Video editing on a smartphone will never be quite the same as on a desktop PC, but the gap between the two is narrowing, as aptly demonstrated by KineMaster.
Unrivaled feature set
This excellent video editing tool has tons of advanced features but presents them in way that even a casual user can understand and apply. And if you're unsure of anything after the initial tutorial, there is a tips and tricks section in the app.
When you start KineMaster it gives you the option to record a video, edit an existing one, or create one from photos. You can also combine several videos and/or photos into one movie.
Now for the editing. Listing every editing option would put you to sleep, but here are some of the highlights: easily trim or cut frames; control the video speed; add transition effects; zoom and pan in a still image (known as the Ken Burns effect); adjust volume of different parts of the video; add sounds (including voice-overs); rotate clips; video and audio filters; a Chroma key (greenscreen); and alter themes, texts, and colors. Then you can always move, add, or delete clips and videos.
If you're unsure about any of these edits, you can preview them straightaway - either as an individual frame or a whole movie - and jump to the particular section you want to view.
Once you're finished editing, you can export in full HD, HD, or low quality. There is MOV support, and you can tweak frame and bitrate to suit your needs. All of these features are available for free but, unless you pay a fee, videos bear the KineMaster watermark.
Intuitive user interface
What Kinemaster does well is make some really powerful video editing features simple to apply though its slick and well-presented user interface (UI). The UI is split between the video you are creating, a frame-by-frame timeline along the bottom, and a wheel of options (record video, add sound, add more videos/photos, and choose a theme). Clicking on a frame brings you to the individual editing options. It's really straightforward and easy to navigate.
Just one note, there is no save button but that is because all your tweaks are being saved automatically.
Video editing at its finest
KineMaster stands out in the video editing market because of its massive range of advanced features that it makes easily accessible to all levels of user. If you're looking for a tool to enhance your creativity and make that perfect video then look no further than this brilliant app.
